About

Vadtaldham

On the blessed land of India, many incarnations have come, restored righteousness, destroyed demons, and protected devotees. Similarly, in the 18th century, when demonic tendencies caused chaos, unrighteousness was increasing, and harmful customs like female infanticide and Sati were prevalent.

People were worshipping impure deities through non-violent sacrifices and couldn't distinguish between right and wrong. Protectors had become predators, and humanity, lost in darkness, needed salvation through righteousness, truth, virtue, and pure knowledge. To destroy the impure forces and demonic tendencies, Lord Swaminarayan incarnated on this earth, restored righteousness, and to keep the light of righteousness shining for centuries he founded the six-fold Swaminarayan sect with deities, temples, scriptures, acharyas, saints, and devotees.

About VadtalDham

The Swaminarayan Sampraday began as the Uddhav Sampraday and was led by Ramanand Swami. In 1799, Swaminarayan, then known as Neelkanth Varni, was initiated into the Uddhav Sampraday as an ascetic (Sadhu) by his guru, Ramanand Swami, and given the name “Sahajanand Swami”. At the age of 21, Neelkanth Varni was given the leadership of the sect known as Uddhav Sampraday with the blessings of Ramanand Swami, who handed him control of the religious diocese shortly before his death.
